hard shifts
I have a93 GMC Safari AWD and 2 days ago it started shifting really HARD from 1st to 2nd. All others seem to be doing just fine. Any suggestions?

It's difficult to really say without more information. Does it do this all the time? Just when it's hot or only when cold? Does it do it only after being driven at freeway speeds for a while?
A reputable tranny shop can check it to see whether it's something simple or not. Good luck.

I have the same problem, but my 99 does it after hwy speeds (see my post from USSCVR - SES LAMP, Multiple Engine Misfire). Does your's re-set after turning it off, then re-starting it? Any luck yet?

What did you do to fix it. My 1999 Denali shifts very hard after traveling @ highway speeds for an extended period of time. When I shut it off, it is then fine for a while, but acts up again. I've had the tranny apart, I've have the computer codes checked, nobody knows. Please help.
