90 REX B16 antifreeze leak

Gotta a leak that looks like its near the radiator, but I can see some coolant on the bottom of the tranny, where do you guys think it's leaking, I don't have time to take it apart right now, hopefully its the lower hose, but I don't know....

Now, after getting in an accident in my friends transam, i found out what is happening with my car. I filled it up with coolant, ran it till it started to overheat, then shut it down, after that a ton of antifreeze came pouring out under the radiator. What is wrong? Radiator, lower hose? I know there's a build up of pressure, but I need some help? Please tell me!!!

there could be a number of problems. First take the rad. cap off and see it there are any bubbles coming out. Second check all the hoses for cracks, also check to see if the over flow is where the fluid is coming from. Third check the lower section of the rad. to see if there are any cracks or holes. If you dont find anything the throw some Bards (spelling) rad. stop leak in it and continue to drive. My thoughts.

There were a few bubbles, but not enough to say the coolant was flowing, although I couldn't get the car to overheat this time. But it still dumped the antifreeze after it shut off. As far as I can see no cracks on hoses, although if there would be cracks it would leak the whole time, not when I shut the car off. I can't see the lower section of the rad, the frames in the way under the car, and you can't see shit from above. It's either the radiator leaking, or the lower hose. As for why it's doing this I don't know, I'm lost.....

Re: 90 REX B16 antifreeze leak

Have you had someone else turn the car off while you watched to see where the antifreeze is coming from when it is dumped? My radiator was leaking from the lower hose, which wasnt cracked, just needed to be re-aligned and re-tightened at its connection to the radiator. I dont know how it works in a crx but my si radiator was very easy to take out and inspect. good luck
