Help getting my VSS out
I've got a 91 HF rex, and a spare hf engine and tranny sitting in the garage. I also have an electronic vss to put in my tranny, however i can't seem to get the vss out of the extra hf tranny I have so how am I supposed to get it out of my tranny which is in my car.
Basically my question is what is the easiest way to get the cable vss out of my tranny. Does it screw out, pull out or what. And yes I have taken the bolt holding it on out. Thanks in advance

vss? is that what makes the speedo work? Btw, just screw both of those crappy tranny's and put a dx in

Yes vehicle speed sensor controls the speedo basically. And i don't need no stinking dx tranny, few more months i will have my b-series, then i will have my turbo. But i will still have my hf sitting on the side incase i blow something. I'm actually building a spare b-series block right now, well actually a gsr block.

Well since you are getting a b series motor then why even bother with the VSS.

The VSS is in the gauge cluster on OBD0 vehicles

Ok let me try to do this the easy way.
B-series is not going in til may. Right now i have a 98 integra cluster i want to put in my car. I have an electronic vss that i need to put in my tranny instead of my cable one. Can anyone help me now please.

pull the clip on the side and the cable pops out, that's all I know.

ahh, can't be much help then, i'll have a look when i get home, but that will be friday night. i'll post how if you havn't figured it out yet.
My small manual doesn't say either, and the big one is at home.

got the integra cluster in my rex. the cable vss can be a bitch to get out of the trans. i remember my friend saying that he got it out eventually by having it in neutral, and then getting a pair of vise grips on it and wiggling it back and forth and pushing up and the same time. It's a bitch, but it'll eventually come out. good luck
