Stuck spark plugs- Help I can't get them out

I have the new motor (from the wrecking yard) waiting to be transplanted. My reading says plugs last 100,000 miles or so.

The engine has 53,000 mi. on it. It is out so all plugs are accessible. However, when I put the socket on them they are really stuck. I don't want to break them or mess something up.

Any thoughts? Should I leave them alone or go for it?

i would fill the bottom of the holes where the plugs are with wd40 then use a plug socket with a 4 inch extension above it and with a ratchet crack them quickly counter clockwise,let them sit for a while the test them again to see if they will go easier....it sounds much too simple but if they are all really seized in some quick torque is usually what is needed, the threads on the plugs is made with very hard metal,not so sure about the heads..carefull

heads are aluminum so careful is definately the word, I'd let the penetrating oil sit a long time. Overnight even

WD40 is NOT penetrating oil (mostly solvents that evaporate quickly). If it doesn't work get some real penetrating oil and let it soak at least overnight, then try again. Be patient, more oil and overnight again. Heat from a heat gun, hair dryers dont get that hot, might help (different expansion rates for the plug and head). also tapping the wrench with a hammer as you apply trorque might help.

And don't forget to use lots of compressed air to blow out any dirt and gunk in the threads that the penetrating oil may loosen..
