I really need your help. I cannot get my key out of the ignition. You can still move the gear shift into any position......but my key will not go into the lock position in order to get it out. Don't have the $$ to take it to the shop at this time. CAN ANYONE HELP ME???? Thanks so much. [/font]

Unless you know how to replace the keylock solenoid I would start saving for that trip to the mechanic =/

Re: 2000 -Help!!Can't get key out of ignition
If you still have this problem, There is a little plug on the underside of the steering column, under the ignition. Remove the plug, if you shine a flashlight up in the hole you should see a brass colored pin. Push on that pin with a small screwdriver, or similar, this will override the safety switch, and let the key to revolve back to the lock position.
