Finally Got my D16Z6 VTEC!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG i am so happy i got it!!!! Someone told me that u have to shift at 4000 though when the vtec is on or u will fry ur head is this true???

Are u serious? That is so funny. Here's my advice: whoever told u that should be shot. Next time u see him, turn around and run away, run far away and don't look back till you've reached the border cuz that guy obviously doesn't know anything about vtec, or hondas, or cars for that matter....lol

How exactly do you fry a head? I know there's oil on it, and it gets extremely hot but jeez...

Well he said something to that effect. He sayed something about mayb messen my engine up if i dont shift at 4000-4500. Oh, and BTW, i am running a toggleswitch from my vtec to my shifter. do you have to turn the vtec on when ur goin or can u just use it when u want too????

MY BAD MY BAD he sayed that you should kick the vtec on at 4000-4500 i think??? Im confused. can some one gimme the lowdown on how o use my vtec and when i should turn it on and off and if i have to use it and what gear

flip the switch when you get to about 4500-5000 rpm....doesn't matter what gear you are in.....

...why not get an rpm activated switch and be done with it.. not too expensive and much much better than a toggle switch..that's just ghetto..

you would turn it off when you go below 4500 rpm for example when you upshift.....i would go with marked001 though and suggest an rpm activated switch for ease of use

I think toggle switch is cool cause its like hitting a turbo boost button or something lol

Wire v-tec to a monster tac and set vtec where ever u want it to kick in, 48000 or 5500 should be good, thats what u did..Is set at 4800
