Does this make sense?

i found a site that makes remotely located turbo kits. they have one main reason as to why it would be good to remote mount a turbo (which has good reason behind it) but check out the link and then check out where they want to mount the turbo on an LT-1(it happens to be right underneath a large tank full of a certain combustible liquid)...

why to remote locate...

where it turbo goes...

A turbo isn't going to get any hotter than your headers. That picture of the cherry red Turbo is a car that is far far far far from just an LT-1 with a turbo on it.
Second mouting a turbo that far away will increase the time it takes the turbo to spool and also pressure will be less than what is made due to the distance travelled all the way back to the TB. Makes no real sence unless you a running large amounts of boost 20psi plus at least.

i agree the remote location would be kindof counter productive...i just thought it was funny that they use the picture of a glowing red turbo and then tell you to put that under your gas tank...

Re: Does this make sense?

great sleeper effect for people lookin under ur hood...and easy access to be stolen....all u need is a hack-saw and a jack .....

not good for lowered cars or for people in areas where the road is bad...
