99 Grand Caravan (3.8L) has recently been taking it's time cranking when we turn the key. It usually turns over after 1 or 2 cycles. I put the battery on a trickle charge overnight, and it still had the same problem. Is this the starter beginning to go out? My Ford Ranger did this recently until it wouldn't start at all. I'd like to get it fixed before it goes DOA on the road. Also, sometimes the gauges on the instrument panel go out, but then work most other times. Suggestions?

Re: 99 Caravan - slow cranking - starter?
bad battery. Probably a bad cell. Replaced it and all is well.
