94 XJ VERY slow cranking
Please help!!!
Starting has gotten more and more difficult over the past few weeks (sounds like the oil is REALLY thick). Battery replaced today -- no help. Oil changed -- no help (it's leaking but then the mechanic stripped the threads on the drain screw -- Argh). It was a quart low which bothers me because I check it regularly. I read something about bad oil senders? Could mine be out and there's no oil getting to parts of the engine and I'm slowing burning it up? I do get a wierd awful buring smell most of the time now that smells like burning rubber or burning oily gaskets. Someone said check the starter but would that cause the ultra-slow craking (like no more that one full turn over per 10 sec.?). Anyone able to assist? Cheers |
