Rotor replacement question
I have read that when replacing brake rotors, use of a C-clamp to squeeze the piston into the caliper makes it easier to fit the caliper & pads over the rotor. I have also heard that in doing this, the ABS system can get damaged.
My rotors vibrate badly during braking, so I am replacing the rotors & pads. I am not sure how to correctly fit the caliper & pads over the new rotors (it's a tight squeeze!). Is there a correct way? Thanks in advance, Ken R. |

Re: Rotor replacement question
I've never heard such about the ABS system potentially being damaged by a C clamp. That's what I've always done on mine.

Just be sure not to push the piston back any farther then being flush with the caliper.. (not sure if it's possible to push it 'too far' back).. |
