At first I just tried to get to the heater core cover. I sooned realized that it would be easier to just get the glove box out of the way. I'm no mechanic but after a couple hours I had a new, fire-breathing heater core. Putting it all back together was no big deal after learning how it all came apart. Good luck!

thank you replying gwinters, I actually bought a 93 sunbird and started to take it apart and the first thing i did was the heater core. so i now have a new warm z24. my wife says the heater is so hot that it burns the hair off her legs, so now she seems to want to drive my car a couple times a week.
alot of the parts from the sunbird are the same as the cav, there is a web site that i cross reference the part numbers on.
thanks again for the reply...later.
