ok before all you suckaz go knockin the gtech check out this thread AF member 'carrrnuttt' posted.
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...74&postcount=2 "G-TECH/Pro is a very accurate machine, and the trap speed result that you get from the G-TECH/Pro is actually more accurate than the racetrack. Reason is that the racetrack averages your speed over a 60 feet stretch between two beams and G-TECH/Pro measures your speed at the exact 1/4 mile point." anyways the guy i was talkin about that got one used it to check the hp on his 91 accord and it seemed pretty off so he hasnt figured out the calibration yet, (just got it today) but hes supposed to go try doin the 1/4 tonight so ill keep you guys posted.

until someone comes up with a d16a6 vs SOHC ZC ..stock vs stock ... dyno graph, i will belive the sohc zc is a fancy stamped d16a6. The engine came out in trim levels less than Si, so that means its the USDM equilvant of a DX engine in japan.

d15bitch seems to know more about the differences between the sohc zc and the d16a6 than anyone else, but apparently the internals are the same ones used in the dohc zc (dunno if this is good or bad
) and the cam is slightly more agressive.

First off, the ZC is JDM, the D16A6 is not. We all know the Japanese like to give their engines more oomph, have better engines... Second, the pistons and conrods in the ZC SOHC are the same ones used in the DOHC ZC. Despite what some people may believe, the rods and pistons are stronger than that of a D16A6. Better for modding... Third of all, the cam in the SOHC ZC and the slightly higher compression of 9.3:1 (compared to 9.1:1 of the D16A6), makes a stock SOHC ZC push out 120HP. 5HP less than the sohc vtec engines... Now, I have had the privilege to drive two separate cars, one stock with a Euro D16A7 (D16A6 without a cat), and one stock with a SOHC ZC install. Only difference between the cars was the mill itself... I found the ZC to be smoother revving, faster revving and an undeniable difference in power. Especially from 3000rpm where the ZC cam really gets to scream up to redline. I found it kicked me in the back very nicely, better than the D16. That was why I decided to source one of my own to drop into my 4G4D. I thoroughly enjoy this motor, much better than my previous D15. |

It wouldn't surprise me if the SOHC ZC had a slightly better cam and .1 more compression as its a JDM engine, but 120hp, i doubt that. |
