SOHC vs. SOHC Yesterday
Yesterday this guy comes up from another town. He found out that I have a pretty quick Single Cam. So he wants to Race me. I meet him up at Taco Bell and he has a 95 Dx Coupe. He says he has stock DX and we don't pop our hoods. So we go out to the bridge and I run him and he misses a gear and so I beat him. Second time we run he launches better then me because he has much better tires mine are all bald. He launches a car lenth on me and then could not pull away from me after that I hung at his rear bumper the whole time. We roll back and I convence him to pop his hood and I found he had a 1.5L Sohc ZC JDM VTEC motor with the exhaust disconnected and he had pulled out a bunch of sensors or some shit like that. It was a fun race but I am looking forward to a rematch after I get a little bit more bolt ons.

Trust me, I know how the bald tires thing goes. My tires are SO INCREDIBLY BALD. I've refused to race for the past like month because I KNOW if I launch and burn out my tires will reduce to chunks on the road. And it's hard as HELL to get any sort of a good race with bald tires.

i hope the *power adder* is not that 50 shot you want.......i have no respect for people who spray in street races, i can understand in the pro's where thats your job but on the street you get no respect from me if you spray

I don't see what is wrong with using nitrous on the street. As long as he isn't decieving the guy he's racing saying he isn't spraying when he really is.

but its the easy way out.......you just dont get any respect from me if you spray.....if you both were spraying it would be ok but i just dont think its cool

plus there are a bunch of people around here that spray and dont tell anyone or they lie their asses off....so my respect level has went down from all that.....

Spraying is kind of stupid on the street in just shit races, ESPECIALLY if you lie, I agree. But it's OK to use on occassion. NOS is some fun shit to play with. But communicate that you've got it and usually the cocky bastards will tell you to use it because "they can outrun that piece of shit even WITH the NOS"...

Whatever clever...Why is that any different from having a turbo or supercharger? If you have a turbo and I don't....Same thing...And if you're going to keep going with it, why is it any different that having an intake or exhaust? If you have those and I don't...Keeping with that theory, the only races allowed would be Stock vs. Stock...

I agree with civicHBsi91, also nitrous is a good way to blow your motor. It may be a cheaper solution to more power but it bites you in the a** in the end. as for the level of respect I have for ppl who {spray} and don't tell anyone. I don't want ppl to know what i have under my hood before a race, i have no problem with sleeper's if they want to blow there motor with a bottle feed thats fine with me.

anyone can save up what 500 bucks and go get a nitrous system installed and they can get all cocky and call themselves quick because of it.....its just like using a cheat in a video game, like i said on the street i have no respect for it but on the track thats different
