Can ex's be good friends?

Just curious, are you guys all friends with your ex's?

I used to not be, but then as we (my ex bfs and myself), some of us eventually resumes conversation...and I am wondering if that's just odd...

Most of my ex's or "guys I just dated but wasn't seriously going out with" and I talk on a VERY minimal level. I don't need them and they don't need me. We pass eachother now and again, but most of the relationships I've had haven't ended on the best of notes whether it be my fault or his fault so we just don't talk often.

Granted, there is one ex in particular whom I loved very deeply and while he did break my heart, I still find myself talking to him whether I "want to" or not. Hell, I don't even see him b/c he lives two states away, but I still am friendly and the like with him. Sure, I always swore I'd marry him one day and for the most part of the two years it's been since we broke up I'd always hope he'd come back to me..... but now I'm in a great relationship and I realize that I can talk to this one ex without wanting something of him or expecting that he'll want me again.

I don't know, I'm rambling and for some reason "I can't make you love me" is on my MP3 player so I have let my wee lil mind wander farther than I should have.

hehe, thanks for the story. Yeah, cause I am in a great relationship now, so it's not like I want to run off anywhere. But this one ex that was a 1000 miles away came home, and we're just good friends so we converse a lot. But I find that he rarely mentions his gf, and I tend to shy away from mentioning too much about my bf...and just wondering if that's anything...

but either way, think I am happy where things are now, hope things are GREAT w/ you too!

ONe of my very best friends is an ex (3 times over) heehe We have been through alot together, and I would never know what I would do without him. Sometimes being a mate with your ex will work and then other times it doesnt. depends on the person I guess.

I am friends with all but 1 of my ex's. We still get along really well and I hope we will be friends in the future. I guess I still have feelings for them when we break up and we just become friends. Obiviously you liked the guy at 1 stage to be with him so why not be friends. The only reason I'm not friends with all of them is cause the 1 used to abuse me.
Other than that I can't see a reason why not

I think that ex's can be good friends if there wasn't much drama during the relationship, or if you were friends before you got together...as for me, that's a No, I'm in a great relationship and that stuff is in the past, I wouldn't even want to keep up the friendships

Re: Can ex's be good friends?

I'm really good friends still with one of my ex boyfriends. He's also really good friends with my husband!!! The other ex boyfriends I just wouldn't ever want to be friends with.
