Which models came without sunroofs?
Im thinking about purchasing a '94-'01 Acura Integra as a project vehicle. I used to drive a '02 WRX, but the transmission broke with only 1800 miles on it so I traded it in for a '03 Toyota Tacoma and I REALLY miss the speed and handling I had before. Anyways, Im 6'7" 245lb so I need all the extra room I can get. Which integra models were sold without sunroofs?

Basically only the Type R there are a few flouting around out there that are LS or RS models that have no sun roof, and ther are rareto find, but for the most part only the Type R. I would have to suggest a GSR or Type R if you are wanting it to be compareablre to a wrx. Unless you are wanting to put some money into it.

The engine isnt of much concern to me since it will be fully built (bottom and top end). I was thinking the B18B would probably be the better bet anyway for turbocharging with the higher gearing so an LS would work fine. A type-R would be great for an all-motor car, but would probably cost more than I want to spend right now. The GSR came with a sunroof standard, right? Im well aware that even the type-R will not have the level of performance that I am looking for in stock form. Ive always liked the '96-'00 Civic hatchbacks also, so I am looking into a HB with a B18C1 engine/tranny swap also, but I think that that would cost more in the long run than an integra would already having the larger engine in it.

Ive always purchased my vehicles brand new. Since the engine will be built anyway im not to concerned about mileage, but is there any other things on the car that i should be concerned about when looking at a car with a 100k miles or so?

At 100K miles the thing I would be concerned about is the axles and the struts. I just had all new half shafts and struts done on my front end, and the bill was almost 700 bucks.
Anyway, for a big guy like you I don't think a 3G teg is good for you. I am 6'1'' and 220 LBS, I drove my moms 2000 teg and it is pretty tight in there for me. My head hits the roof, and I have to slide the chair back practically the whole way. There is no way another passenger could sit behind me in the back. If you are a half a foot taller than me, thats only gonna make it worse. I suggest a 2G integra for you. I test drove a 90 GS, WAY more room in the interior. Plus I think it's a nicer looking car in the first place, just my opinion though. 90-93 is the second generation. I would suggest getting a 90-91 because they are Non-OBD and easier to work with custom setups. |
