SQUEAK from front right wheel. replaced axle and rotors and pads
guy at the shop said that it was the warning pins on the brakes telling you that they're almost dead so i had him resurface the brakes. my cv boot was also ripped so he replaced the axle.
its still squeaking from the wheel though, not as loud but still very annoying. everything the dude did was: adjust clutch cable tighten a bunch of bolts on front right suspension new front right axle new front brake pads resurface front brake rotors im not sure if its a spinning part or what because when the car is off and just sitting there you can push down on the front right fender and hear the squeak... you can also push from the side and it'll squeak. if you shut the driver door kinda hard then it'll also squeak. SOO annoying. please help. |

Clean/inspect/lube bushings - replace any worn or cracked bushings. Have some one push on the car while you try & pin-point noise.
You can use "multi-purpose grease" - even cars with sealed systems still need to be lubed. When I first got my 91 si the rear was making noise(you could push the bumper, side-ways, shut trunk, or close door & the noise was heard. I lubed & cleaned all the bushings & no more noise w/ slight increase in ride quality. This may not be the case for you but its worth a try, $5.00 for the grease. |

ill try that jackasssi. but arent some of the bushings not accessible on the front without taking a bunch of stuff off?
someone said it could be ball joints cuz my car has over 201k on the stock balljoints and just got lowered (puts more stress on ball joints to be lowered because of the increased angle that they are put to right?) ______________________ heres an update: i have skunk2 springs (not coilovers) on my car (pretty stiff) and with 2 fingers i can push down enough on the fender to hear the squeak you hear the squeak going anything above 1mph the car shakes a little bit going 70mph+, no shake at all before 70 there is no squeak when turning anything more than slightly to the right (weight transferred off of the front right wheel) the squeak gets louder when you turn left (more weight transfered to front right wheel) it is not the warning pins on the brakes or the axles because i got those replaced this morning, done professionally. |

The only thing you should take off is the front tires. Use an aresol spray, silicone will work best - white lith. works as well. All the suspension geometry changes when lowering, & yes some additional strain is applied. When the guy was tightening up stuff didn't he check everything over? It could be upper spring rubber - its hard to say without looking @ myself since there are so many possiblities.
For the shakes, when was the last time you had your wheels balances? What condition are the tires in? It could also be caused from a worn suspension part(the one causing the noise possibly) - Tie rod, ball joints, control arm bushings, etc., etc., etc. If it happens to be a lower control arm bushing - you wont be able to that yourself unless you replace the whole control arm. Those bushing are a bitch unless you got the right equipment. If no one can figure it out, take her to Honda for a suspension inspection. They will charge you .5 hrs of labor but it might be worth it in your case. Edit** while your lubing dont forget the rear suspension Last edited by jackasssi; 09-10-2003 at 12:15 AM. |

tires are almost brand new. about a month after i got the car my back tires hit some gravel in a turn and i went into a drift and my front right tire smacked a curb and bent the tie rod. i took it to les schwab and they replaced the tie rod and i got an allignment. could it have mayyyybe knocked something else out of whack too? the guy inspecting it was said to be the most knowledgeable person there as far as honda/acura suspension components and he spent a good 5 minutes checking out JUST the front right suspension and said it was just the tie rod.

If dude said it was the tie-rod, then replace the tie-rod. If you hit a curb hard enough to bend the tie-rod, then yes you could have bent something else : contol arm, radius rod, hub, bearing, endlinks
