A New Project: 1963 Impala SS Lowrider!

A new project, it was an unplanned purchase but I'm more then happy with it. Originally my plan was to buy some paint for my `64 Impala but I was trying out a new model store which is yet to get TS colours in. So I looked at the few plastic kits he had and I picked this up and bought it, after I bought it I returned to the model rack to see a 1970 Impala just released by AMT that I will be buying next to turn into a Lowrider

Anyway, colour will be red with a white roof, the billet rocker covers and air cleaner came from Revells `37 Ford. The wheels are from my El Camino with the `63 spinners on them. I'm unsure about the colour-coded steering wheel and interior accents, it looks wierd having them only in the front of the car. I might add some to the back later, the boot has a mirror-effect piece of vinyl on the parcel shelf part, after I paint the body I'll add more of that vinyl to the insides of the rear quarter panels.

Leave your comments, please

Looks really cool. I have one of these, I might have to go and restore this one.

I love it, it's got all the classic lowrider cues and a sweet looking engine bay to match.

Thanks, I would put white walls on it but I have no whitewall decals I would really like some though so if anyone has some, read the green text in my sig

I know layitlow has a model forum but I haven't been really bothered at looking properly at it yet. I am more interested in looking around the net for real lowriders, sadly all I look for on the internet is women and lowriders

Looks great. Are you going to put the white wall decals onto the tires?
