Need advice on wheel and tire size

i want to put 17 inch rims onto my 90 hb and was just wondering about rubbing problems and what tire size and rim width is optimal for reducing the rubbing and what kind of offset i might need>

try to get a 45mm offset wheel...and nothing less than a 42 if you cant get a 45.... and if you're going with 17s... go with 205/40s..
