I am thinking of getting 17x7.5" Team Dynamics DTM. Local shop can get them cheap and I like the bbs/touring style.
If I go with a 17x7.5" wheel what offset should I run? I have heard that 45 would be a good offset but some other people are saying 38 or 40. What would be best? Tire width on a 17x7.5" wheel. Most people are saying either 205-45 or 205-40 is a good size for a 17" wheel. Is that wide enough to fit a 7.5 inch wheel?

not sure about offsets on a P10 - if they are anything like a P11, 42mm is a good fit and yes a 205 tire WILL fit on a 7.5" wheel.

I am running 205/40-17 and you cannot get a tighter fit. In fact, when I went from Scummytomo HTRZ-II tires to Yokohama Pradas in the same size, I had to adjust the camber in the rear a little and file part of the spring perch to get about 1-2mm clearance. Any larger tire will not fit.

Geo- Did you have issues with rubbing with a larger tire on the spring perch? I'm thinking about trying to find a ser of Spec V wheels for my G, as they are the right bolt pattern, and the offset is close (47mm) and with a spaer, they should fit fine. But I was unsure about tire sizing. I have the GC/AGX setup, and since i don't have aprings sitting on the perches, i wouldn't feel bad about grinding that away (most of the way that is, i would still keep enough for the GC collar to rest on) Is this a possible solution? Or should I just look at, and figure on getting smaller tires? Thanks BTW. I have a couple pictures uploaded to this site, with spec v wheels photoshopped on my car
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Team-N...V%20wheels.jpg These are 16"'s exactly, as i just overlayed them on top of my exisiting 16" rims. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Team-N...20v%20rims.jpg these are bigger, I'm guessing probably equivalent to 17-18" rims, but i'm really not sure, as there isn't really an easy way to measure on a picture.

So there is only 1mm of clearence? Do you ever scrape with people in the back. I don't usually carry people but when I do I cram 5 people in the car I like Dunlop sp9000s I had them on my Volvo and they were quiet and I never lost traction unless I wanted to powerslide a corner. I wish the g20 was rear wheel drive. Drifting in a front wheel drive car scares me. What about 17x7" and 45mm? The wheel would be about 12mm thiner or is the problem tire size here. I may want to go with the 17x7" Monza wheels anyway so I wonder about that fittment also.

If your running on stock springs a 17x7 with a 45mm offset and 205 tire will be fine. The only time minor changes in offset become a priority issue is when you lower your car, b/c of the decreased clearance a millimeter here or there can make a world of difference. You could probably go as high as 48mm offset on a 7" wheel with your stock suspension. As far as tire size goes the P10 correct plus size is 205/40 17. If you want to go for a bigger size (215/45 17, etc.) then you will have to recalibrate your speedo, b/c it will have a significant percentage of error.
This link will allow you to plug in various offsets and tire sizes and let you know what kinda clearance you will get. http://www.tolan-hoechst.com/cars/tirecalc.htm |

It seems with my Intrax./ AGX setup I still have room for a taller wider tire in the back .
It the tires lokk really skinny from the back too. I saw an IS300 with 17's going 215/45/17 and a mazda MP3 with the same... maybe it is just my untrained eye ....
