what engine you have in you prelude? if you looking for 450hp I hope you have a deep pocket. Is going to be allot of money to get there. A turbo-kit by itself won't get you there, you going to need to built your block.

I don't see you getting 450HP reliably out of any Honda 4 cylinder block.

Polygon, dude, don't disrespect the Hondas, especially if you drive Chrysler. It's not like you drive Lamborghini or Ferrari or an rx-7. I don't want to stoop to the level of saying anyone else's cars suck, but I see way more LeBarons in the junkyard than on the streets. Matter of fact, the last one I saw broke down almost three years ago. I've never seen one at the drag strip, I've never even been beaten by one in my all motor delSol! Anyway, what the hell are you doing commenting on Hondas with turbos if you don't know anything about them? I know of a few heavily modified Honda 4 bangers that make over 700 hp. Granted , I haven't held the dyno charts in my hands, but these are fellas I know, not just forum braggers. I will admit that I heard of one blowing a spark plug out of it's threads, but this could be a mechanic's error. Go back to the Chrysler forums and help out someone who needs your guidance and experience. Help someone beef up their turbo Neon or something to run against us--those things are fast, and I want to see how fast someone can get them going, no matter whether I would buy one or not. Don't rip on us, because we love our Hondas, and we feel that they are the most reliable cars ever built, even when we do sick things to them like boost. 450 hp is possible, and if one properly manages fuel, timing, boost and knows how to drive it, it will be reliable.
to n2oforever:
Is that a Frankenstein engine then, an H23 VTEC? Some guy talked to me about some j-spec vtec 2.3, but I don't think I understood what he was talking about. Anyway, H23 is a good choice to start from. Allmotor (n/a) builders start out by boring and stroking, so maybe that's a good start, at least the boring part. Use strong forged low compression pistons, beef up the bottom end and the valves. Titanium is your expensive friend, but higher RPM's make for higher horsepower, and if we can reduce the reciprocating and rotational mass, we will be there. I know a guy who popped 700+ ponies out of a 1.8 non-vtec on the track. Remeber to also move a ton of fuel. And tweak the computer. This is an expensive project, but my guess is that you probably don't really know what you are doing yet, and boost is something you can easily destroy an engine with. I mean no disrespect by this, but I would employ a professional, and/or start smaller. A dynomometer would be helpful. Getting 300+ streetable horsepower on pump gas isn't too tough with maybe 10 psi, a 30 shot of nos and proper engine managment. But, if you've already passed this point, you shouldn't have too much trouble making 450 by putting more boost in.

Sorry to rant folks. A turbo Neon smoked by me last week, so I'm on a mission, not in submission. I'm not bitter, I'm just more determined. Those things are FAST!

i think the H23 is just your standard dohc vtec prelude...190-200hp i believe...frakensteins are like hybrids like ls/vtec, crvtec etc too my knowledge...anyway...if you're looking for a turbo with big gains for that motor....look towards a t3/4 hybrid or maybe a T60..ball bearing ones if you can.....are you building this for the street?..
