I'm not familiar with what the speaker setup is on a Concorde. So if you can give me some info on layout, I might be able to help you.

Cool rear speaker setup

I had the same problem when i upgraded mine. If you have the infinity stereo it uses a spartnial imaging system for the speakers which gives each speaker like 4 wires instead of 2. I took mine to circuit city and in order to hook up aftermarket speakers you can only hook up the bass or treble. I have mine with 3 kicker tweets in dash positions 2 on side and 1 in middle then took out the door speakers completly. Added 2 300 watt 6*9's in the back and then for bass i have an 800 watt mobile authority amp pushing 2 12" pioneer IMPP speakers in trunk. It delivers more than enough bass to offset the treble and gives good depth of sound cause infinity amp pushes car speakers and does spartinal sound. If any questions just email me at [email protected]

Talking

I have installed a lot of pain in the butt speakers, but my 97 concorde was the worst!! Although a little work and a split knuckle or two and my car has one of the BEST systems in town!! Once you get the STOCK speakers out, you have to figure out how to mount the new ones in there... in my case they were pioneers... well I threw some nuts and bolts on there and they are very secure. Now comes the wiring... obviously you cant just hook the stupid stock connector up to my B.A. pioneers, so you have to do some installer work on them.. get some wire strippers and cut the wires and strip them down. Now go to meijers or autozone something like that and purchase some wire connectors that will fit the speaker connections. EASY EASY EASY!!! at least I thought so... well now comes the hard part, apparently my pioneers were reversable or something because they ahd no pos/neg symbols on them nor did they sound differantly when I was playing around with the wires to figure out which was positive and negative... of course I coulda used my ohm meter to figure it out, but it needed a new battery at the time and the stores are kinda far away... stupid west michigan... MY speakers work GREAT!! I have 4 satellite speakers, 2 tweets hooked up in place of the in dash speakers, and two 1200W bandpass subs with a 2000W amp!! NICE!!!

you can get all sorts of information for the Chrysler Concorde Sound Systems at www.DodgeIntrepid.net, due to a server change, you might have to join us through a mirror image at http://www.lhcars.net/forums/

pioneer 6x9's and sony deck

I put a sony deck in my car a while back. Its a Sony cdx-c480. An old piece of junk, I'll admit, but it worked great, untill one day I blew one of my factory 6x9's. That weekend i went out and bought a new set of pioneer ts-a6963 6x9's. I put them in myself, and the positives and negatives are all connected right, but on thing i dont understand is, these speakers are rated at 40watts rms each, and 220 watts max each. my deck is a 40Wx4, so I would think, I could and should be able to crank it up a lot louder than I can right now. My volume only gets turned up about 3/4th's of the way before the speakers start to sound destorted. this is just the same as my factories put out. Are my speakers junk that I bought? Is my deck crap? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

speakers not yet crap

First of your deck is 40 watts PEAK, it is probably about only 22 watts RMS, so the speakers can handle then fine, the problem is that when you turn it up to 3/4 and higher, the signal from the headunit becomes distortated, this is where you are getting your distrotation from.

Re: Rear Speakers pleez HELP!!

95 Concorde

I had to remove the rear deck to get to the stock speakers. Needed a ratchet wrench for the back screws, they only give you a couple of inches of clearance. Cut off the stock coupler for the old speakers and attached the wires straight to the speaker terminals til I purchase some connectors. The speakers go in the the rear deck. Think I had to remove the rear seat back too.
