well, loader is better, but with H pipes and X pipes there both goood... i guess, but you really want true duals, less back pressure=more power

I say get gears before you worry about the cars exhaust. This will be a more noticeable improvement over exhaust.

damn highflow you love those rear gears! I've got some 3.23s that i'll sell for 40 bucks. they are about 10000 miles old with no dings or pits. I've always been a big fan of lt headers. I think that's a good place to start.

could be anything - i think there were four options, although there might have been more or less. chances are your stock gears are better then 3.27 - which is what i ment, not 3.23

He loves gears cause they are 1 of the best mods by far. As far as 94 and up Stangs I think most 5-speeds have 3.08 and auto 3.27. 87-93 Stangs 5-speed got 2.73-3.27 luck of the draw, autos 3.27. Most Stang owners will go to 3.73. Which on average drops your ets 7/10 in the 1/4 mile

What are the advantages of 4.10's over 3.73's and if I upgrade to 4.10's will I have to change anything else in my 97 GT to accomodate the 4.10 gears?

4.10's would be great for max hook, but there becomes a point where one can have too much gear on the street. If your car is mainly street driven, 4.10's will make shifting more frequent and somewhat of a pain in traffic and such. Not to mention your top speed is cut pretty substantially. If the car was an auto then 4.10's would be a good gear to help the slush box get moving. Also with a gear as low at 4.10's it's going to be VERY easy to lose traction, this is where a good suspension and sticky tires will come in handy.

Something you need to think about when getting the gears also, is not only paying for the installation if you aren't going to do it yourself, but the cost to redue you speedo. I switched out the gears in my 95 and I have been told it will cost $300+ to get the computer program to switch fix the speedo. So you might want to think about that also. And if any one knows of a different or better way to get my tach back on line after my gear swap I would love to hear it. Cause I really don't feel like dishing out another $300 dollars on them.

I hear diablosport chip makes a replacement ecu with three different modes... you send them the info about your specific car and they customize the thing for you... never tried it but it could be something to look into.
