Unhappy my dog is dieing

my 13 year old english springer spaniel is dieing... suddenly (overnight practically) the dog whose name is maggie, can no longer stand up or walk around. If she doesnt get dramatically better she will have to be put to sleep. Its wierd because just last weekend (4 days ago) maggie was running around as if nothin was bothering her. Its also wierd because she is in no pain at all she just can not stand up. People told me this may be a inner ear infection.. who knows, i wish it would go away though.

it seems like at this age death is a more frequent thing than when i was young ( im 15 now) oh well i wont get into it.. and i dont know why i posted this because i dont know any of you. I guess this is a way to vent my sadness.

sorry to hear about that, i hope it is just an ear infection, and not something too serious.

ah, the marvels of the internet. If people care about what happened, they will say so. if they dont, you dont have to listen to them. its much easier to talk about how you feel to strangers than it is to people you know.

I am sorry also bro, I have a dog at home and when he passes away it will be like loosing my brother. I think god made a mistake when he made pets, they need to outlive their owners

I am sorry to hear about Maggie's not being well.

I went through a similar thing 2 months ago with my Staffordshire bull terrier, same symptoms everything, it's not easy.

Did you take her to the vet?

Sorry to hear that Maggie is not doing well. Having just gone through this with out cat, I can say you’d be doing the right thing by putting her to sleep if the vet cannot do anything for her. It’s a tough thing, but it’s the right thing.

Sad to hear that As said, take her to the vet. As the problem is early, there is more chance that the problem can be easily solved.

well we had a vet look at her ... its not an ear infection, and all the ohter possibilities are to much money for to spend on a 13 yr old dog. I guess this is her time. We have an appointment at 5:30 to put her down . It is very hard because i grew up with this dog, and i spent more time with her than i have wit my friends. I agree God should of made the pets last just as long as teh humans. We will get another dog but nothing car replaise maggie. She was a good dog. She never bit, barked, ran away. her only real behavior problem was she would eat anyhing, so she get into the garbage. It is really sad because now she can't even get up to eat her food daily, so we have to put her down....sighs..... Oh well good things cant last forever. Shes been a good dog. At lease she's goin peacefulls, not hit b a car or something.

I will miss my dog

You gave her a good life and aren't letting her suffer, you're doing the right thing.

All our thoughts are with you

Sorry to hear. Losing a dog is about as bad as losing a human family member. At least you know your dog had a great life with your family. Alot of dogs never get that opportunity. She will know you are doing the right thing for her. I still miss my lab/dobie mix who died 5 years ago. She was the coolest "hang out buddy" type of dog. I got a new dog, a little Pug, after she passed but the Pug doens't quite fill in the pawprints Shadow left.

I'm really sorry to hear about your dog. I know how hard it can be. My last dog, Butterscotch, was such a great dog but she died in 2000 from cancer at only 10 years old. Just rest assured that you're doing what is right and that your Maggie lived a good life.

sighhhhsss 3 hours till this has to happen.... i can hardley even look at my dog withough feeling very sad... im slowly getting "closure" (im not shure if thats spelled right) with her and accepting what has to happen . My next dog has some big shoes to fill. Its even worse because ive been with my dog so much that she knows when im sad or happy ( i know this sounds stupid but i can tell) and i dont want to go around her all sad.. ( its still a dog but i dont want her to be depressed at the end of her life) I guess i still have to remember it is still a dog not a human. these things have to happen at some time. It seems wrong to me though becuase my dog was allways scared to go to the vet.. and know were gonna take her to the vet and shes going to be put to sleep... it seems like a scary way to go but its good that shes not in pain. Thanks for all your suppost guys i'll fill you in on my next dog.
