Damn straight! I can't vote on this one, because there really is no average for me. Okay, maybe that's because I rarely consider anything finished - there is always something else. I have models I've been working on for 5 years! Pick 'em up every once in a while, so they still count as "in-progress".

On the other hand, my Harley projects are generally nice little weekenders......or were, I've got a couple running into the 3 week range right now, and far from done.

My Revell '77 Monte Carlo took me over a year to get complete! And, that's a snap kit!

I'll be interested in hearing the time frame you guys work with!

I hate trying to work on a kit while the paint is still not cured or having glued parts fall off while doing something else. If I enjoy a kit and everything on it looks to be good, I'll take my time.

Before coming to this forum I took more or less 3-4 weeks to complete a model.
Now I discovered that enamel paints are "curing" (food dehydrators don't exist in my country) and can be polished and waxed, now I learned to use primer to get a better result, now I airbrush in more than 2 coats, now I discovered there are sinks and seam lines... it takes me certainly 6-8 weeks.

I must also say that I don't have much time for modelling.

On average, it takes me about 3-4 weeks from start to finish. Might take longer if I'm going for more detail or customizing the kit in some way. I don't get much time to build. Sometimes I can sneak in an hour during a weekday, but weekends are when most of the work gets done.

It usually takes about 4 months for me to complete a kit. Work and family committments contribute to the timeframe along with that desire to go for more detail.

When things are going well and stress is low I can finish a model in about two weeks, but when you have these stupid tenants that tear up your property it could take me one to two months to finish. I learned that if I try to finish it while in a bad mood it usually turns out crappy.
