Turbo Charge

Alright, I've got a 2002 Civic EX. Obviously I get heat from every other highschool kid, because I have a 20 thousand dollar car, that is slow as hell. I can afford to turbo charge it, but I know nothing but the basics when it comes to cars. If I spent the money on a kit, could I immediatly take it to someone and have them put it on my stock civic, without having to purchase or alter anything else? And if the answers yes, can someone tell me where I could get the best turbo charge kit for my 2002 ex?

I don't know a lot about Honda engines, but I do know a lot about turbos. I would go with any kit that uses a Garrett turbo.

You will get more information in the Honda F/I forum.

Well I see that Garret turbos are mentioned often throughout the forums. I've checked out several sites, and I've seen "Stages" the first stage adding 60+ hp in one instance, and the next adding 120+ hp. Now im not sure what this means, but id like to get as much hp possible, so if someone has the time, could I have a link to a Garret Turbo charge kit, for a 2002 civic ex, with major horse power?

first off there are different stages because some people want bigger turbos and such, but the downside is being your car is completely stock engine wise that u would need to beef up your engine internals before you could go to a higher stage. Also it is going to be rather hard to find a turbo KIT for your car being it is a newer car and none of the 1.7 liters have a kit yet. Hell not even my 98 civic has many kits available for it yet. Good luck with a kit and let us know or me know if ya have any more questions. Peace

Since u got the money y dont u custom build the motor it would cost about 4 to 5 gees to make it work and run about 10 to 12 psi boost there are no turbo kits jus buy a t-88... J/k try to buy like a T25 or t3/t4 hybrid turbo.

Would the T3/T4 put my stock civic at or near 200hp?

Yes. Since you are a beginner (no offense) I would go with the Greddy kit. Get an intercooler for it though. Any shop should put this kit together in a breeze considering Greddy intended to make it easy enough for regular people to put on. It has decent gains, not the best but I would say the most reliable, which is probably what you want.

Sounds good to me, being refered to as a beginner is actually a compliment among other words I've heard. Anyway if you have a link to dig up for me on one of those kits and/or an intercooler. If not I'm sure I can find something.

[Edit] Erm, darn, I visited the GReddy site, and once again I find that my car is still a little too new, everything stops at the 2000 models.
Actually it stops at 2000 Si models and 95 civic models, so does this mean im going to have to wait 5 friggen years to turbo charge my damn car?

Yeah I'm sure he wants to go from a 1 year old car to a ten year old one!
They will eventually make stuff for 01-up civics. Just be patient.
BTW I'm sure if he got a loan for it, theres no way he could sell it and pay off the loan and still have enough to buy another car, let alone mod it.
