The staged rescue of Lynch

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programme...nt/3028585.stm
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3043115.stm

'Everyone' but the US gov. thinks that this was all staged... 'mysterious' amnesia.. Somehow the US gov. has amnesia on what it does to its own POW that's what I think.

I read a similar report several days ago,and have always been cynical as to the McGyver- like nature of the original story...pretty girl, patriotic as hell, just trying to liberate a few ragheads, gets all shot up and captured [after a fierce fight,of course] by evil bad guys who take her off to hospital [anybody see the obvious discrepancy in this].All ong comes Colenel Bigdick, orders 'rescue mission' and before you can say'blackhawk down',brave johnny marine is shooting his way into a hospital, rescuing the blonde, and shooting his way out again?

C'mon guys, you are insulting my intelligence.Am I really expected to believe that real life reads like a really bad episode of 'the A team'?

The war is over, and the war cronies have no further use for Lynch. It is my belief that having seen the huge volume of bullshit and lies written by the U.S. military about the incident, she wants nothing to do with this grossly twisted version of history.

Just out of interest, what would the flagwaving patriots among us think if an arab raiding party had shot up a U.S.field hospital in order to remove patients being treated there?

Gigatron, just what is your problem? You hate America, and it is becoming obviously sad.

It's a convenient label, "anti-American". It's often applied to non Americans who criticize the US on anything, or Americans who criticize often enough.

Really,Pick.......why not stop stating the obvious and ask why?

Perhaps if America changed the way that it interacted with the rest of the world, there would be fewer gigatrons in this world.I could argue that your tireless and simplistic rebuttal of any view that is not pro-Republican is getting lame, but your posts provide me with enough discussion loopholes to drive a truck though, and are entertaining in a slightly daffy sort of way.

I could point out a few loopholes in gigatron's logic as well, but that's not my responsibility....you are the person who should be engaging him in debate instead of just belittling another member because you disagree.

And I know for a fact that you don't hate America, but Gigatron does. And to respond to what I posted in three threads. Yes, hating the government(but not its decisions) is anti-American. Who else makes America's political decisions? Aren't all the government people Americans? Yes,Gigatron, keep bashing America's policies and decisions. And I'll constantly remind you that we are the best.

LOL the people make the decisions in the government? Maybe YOU are part of the government Somehow I remember the people voting AGAINST the war and all those protests were a joke too? Oh wait the cnn polls said people are for war right.. So government=people? You are basically saying whatever the government does should be blamed on the people? I guess I am anti- my old american girlfriend too? Oh and please don't be saying she isn't my gf because im (in your point of view) 'anti-american'. She moved we are in seperate countries, period We are still friends mind you.

Funny how 'unpatriotic' americans also criticize the government.

You god damn right I would hate the US gov. who the hell wouldn't if it goes about doing what it pleases and destroying anyone in their path. I guess that will be something that your conservative mind won't eve understand

I'm not sure what you mean, are you making the ridiculous assertion that the media is somehow controlled by the left? Look at how they jumped all over Clinton at the whole Monica Lewinski thing, and how they fellate Bush around the clock.

Notice how the news on CNN is exactly the same stuff that the White House releases?

I just remember watching an ABC (American News Channel) news article on the resuce, and interviews with the doctors who treated her.
The night before the raid, they had actualy tried to return her to US forces, but at a US army check point were shot at with out being stopped or questioned and had to turn around.

CNN is owned by the biggest liberal corporation in the world, AOL Time Warner. They are left of center. Ever hear of why a lot of their reporters have been fired? Because of similar situations that the New York Times is now involved in, makig shit up. And a lot of it was about this war and how 'wrong' it is.

Don't insult the international members by assuming what our media does and does not do.
I can show you a whole era in American news history where the reporting on South Africa's political situation was taylored to what they wanted to show you and to create the opinion they wanted you to form. It was sensationalistic journalism at its best, and it was the 'proud' American media taking care of it.

You will never have a media which has no political bias, no matter what country you're in.

In South Africa the media has been accused by the govt. of being un-patriotic because it reported on cases of govt. fraud and bribery, do the people not have a right to know when the govt. is corrupt?
It is not a case of the media being right-wing, it is a case of the media informing the people (the media in South Africa is still a very tightly controlled medium unfortunately).

Do you see the point though?

Notice how when you make statements like this,Pick ducks the issue and starts spouting rhetoric?

give us some names and instances of CNN reporters being fired for fabricating war -related stories,Pick. And if you try to duck this one,you will show us all that you have no credibility.
