2004 GC high Idle
2004 GC is idling at 1100 all the timeoatter what temp. Had a 505 code that points to IAC but it went away. swapped the iac with a known good one but the idle remained high at 1100. anyone have any other ideas what might be causing the idle to stay high?

Re: 2004 GC high Idle
Check for a vacuum leak. You could have a cracked vacuum line that is causing this issue. Also check for leaking or a bad intake manifold gasket which will cause similar symptoms.

Re: 2004 GC high Idle
Thanks for the replies. Since I posted, I got some advice that worked on this occasion. It was a suggestion that since our jeep threw an error code for the IAC, That the PCM may have compensated for the fault and adjusted the idle but when the fault cleared the PCM may not have "re-adjusted" the idle . Was told to disconnect the battery to reset the PCM and it worked. Idle is back down in the 700 range as it should be. Thanks again and I hope this helps others.
