Jack Rouch Edition Mustang

Ok, I admit, I drive a heavily modifeid Honda Civic. And I love it. But I am not coming in here to talk crap. I have respect for all cars. I actually have a genuine question. My girlfriend has always loved mustangs, so today I stopped by a dealership and looked at some. There was this Rouch Edition MUstang, absolutly gorgous. Like 350 hp I think, The dual exhaust comes out the sides right behind the sideskirts, like 295-40-ZR18 (or 19, not sure) tires in the rear, the good goodridge T/A KD ones. The dealer said its a like $12,000 package, and that what you do is buy a 4.6L mustang, and then add the Rouch editon package, and it gets sent to ROuch racing, and he buitls it up, similar to a lingenfeller coverrvette. I am curious if anyone has any info or options on it for me...The Saleen was phat too, but like WAAAY outta the pricerange I'll have in a few years. The Rouch Edition was more realistic (eventually, like in several years, lol). I just, know NOTHING bout mustangs, I admitt I am an Import guy. But I wouldn't mind havin a one someday, especially the rouch one. Any info or opinions anyone has on the rouch edition mustang would be helpful thanks

I love the look of the Roush Stangs! They for me are over priced as well. But if you have the cash and want a specialty then go for it. I think the dealer price of the Roush I looked at was around $30k to $35k or something like that, for the S/C one. The thing is I would prefer an 03 Cobra over any Roush or Saleen anyday, DOHC compaired to SOHC. You could also buy a base GT for a lot cheaper then add any of the kits you like and keep the final price lower.

The Saleen is SOHC?? I was sure for that price, it'd be the 4.6l DOHC 32 vavle enigne, not the 4.6l SOHC 16 vavle engine. But then again, like I said, I am just starting to learn mustangs. So you can add Saleen on as a kit? I know I was told you can add the Rouch as a kit for like $12,000. I suppose, you could get the mach 1's dohc and add a rouch kit, right? would buyin a GT and adding a rouch or saleen, etc kit give you basically the same car for less? Also, is the Cobra's engine basically a supercharged Mach 1 engine? would it be cheaper to get, say, a mach 1 and add a blower? I'll hold off on more questions for know, since I just asked a load of them. I do love the Rouch kit, 295 wheels in back, and those dual side exhausts right behind the side skirts is dope. I always wanted to do that to a car.

Yeah the Roush is a stellar looking car, Very appealing to the eye!

Yup both the Roush and Saleen use SOHC's. I'm not too familiar with the Roush company, but with Saleen you can buy the FX kit straight from them. As well as any performance part they make. www.saleen.com So instead of paying upwards of $40k for a Saleen or Roush, you spend $18k-$26k, (depending on year and model) for a GT, then add the respective kits for a lot cheaper. You can also get a GT, add some mods, and be faster for a heck of a lot cheaper.

If I remember correctly the Mach 1 is going for $31k, but not positive, nice car though. I wouldn't mind picking one up. Still I would rather an 03 Cobra, would be money well spent!

Rousch and Saleen are overrated and expensive.

They are 2v motors but there are a few, and I say very few, 4v Saleens and possibly Rousches.

03 > * in a straight line race.

so you could buy a 4vavle DOHC mustang/cobra etc and put a saleen kit on it? if you buy the car new, can't add the Roush kit for a price (I was told that you can buy a sales guy who said the same thing, corba over the overpriced saleen). Like I said, it wouldnt be for a while, but I as plannin and tryin to learn, since stang's differ a lot from imports. Also, I am fimlier with how to go about makin power and the assoseated engine buildups, etc for Honda (closeing deck, cams, etc) How do u make power with the stangs? I know its differnt. That I think would also play into which car/engine type to settle on, right? HOnda's are nice, but its so damn much to make power with them, and too many thevies in the area look for them. Besides, Mustangs are a nice car anyway. I figure since I wann get one sometime, might as well learn from the ppl who know about them.

Buy an 03 Cobra and be eternally grateful for that choice! Pushing over 400 HP with minor tweaks, ability to runs 12's with ease from a factory vehicle. Now that's my kinda of car. Only if I had the cash.....

You could, is the operative word. I don't know about now.

With the OHC motors, the best route for cheap is gears, intake, shifter, pulleys, exhaust, and pray you'll dip into the 12s. Then get a spray can and juice your stang.

I have a ROUSH(proper spelling) and I love it...It was a overpriced and shortly after I bought it they decided to make a run of MACH 1s. I sort of wished I had researched a little. The package cost about as much as the machs and i'd love to have got the DOHC. All the roush and saleen packages have the SOHC. The coolest thing about the Roush is the exhaust note and you got to admit it looks mean.

yeah, i love the look of the ROUSH. The exhuast note, aerokit, 295 tires on 18's in back. It's a phat lookin ride. So you can't get it in DOHC? that sucks, cuz your right, as much as I love the look, the DOHC of the MACH1 or Cobra is a lot better. I wonder...could you add the aerokit and exhaust note (dual exhaust side thingy) to a MACH1 or Cobra? does anyone besides ROUSH do dual exhaust notes?
