99 Rodeo Transmission Issue

Hey guys.

two weeks ago I noticed my temperature gauge shift slightly to the left when I would go onto the freeway. I also noticed that my transmission failed to shift into overdrive (OD) and be would be loud waiting to shift into the next gear.

It was determined that my OD in my transmission was done, and needed fixing. At 170,000 miles, and OEM Transmission, I decided it did its job and had the entire tranny rebuilt.

Once it was fixed I drove home using the freeway and noticed the loud noise was gone, but going 70mph the car seemed forced, and that it should be shifting into another gear, but it would not. ALSO I noticed the temperature gauge shifted slightly to the LEFT again after already being fully warmed up.

anybody know why my temperature gauge would shift to the left (towards the cool side not overheating). It only happens on the freeway.

The temperature gauge returns back to normal once on the streets.

Re: 99 Rodeo Transmission Issue

It is probably the the trans computer. it can cause the trans not to lock in to gear and cause slippage and heating issues.
