Winter tire help

2011 Tacoma Access Cab 4X4, V6 with 16 inch Aluminum TRD wheels.

I'm hoping to hear from others with this truck and some winter driving. First winter for me and I live in the NY Catskill mountains and need a good snow and ice tire. I don't want studs but I will be mounting them on extra rims and switching them after the winter.

We already had one heavy storm here and the stock all season tires that came on the truck will not do!

Any recommendations from others who have already done some winter driving in their Tacoma?
