lose Vacuum hose and heater control not working '00 Venture

I have an "extra" vacuum hose comming off the back of the intake manifold on the passenger side.

It has a few 90 deg fittings on it and it is about 2 ft long before it is broken off at mid line. I cannot figure out where it goes.

Meantime, I also have an inoperative heater box control that works on vacuum. Turn the dial and nothing changes.

Could they be related?

Can you tell me where the vacuum tank is and how the vacuum gets to the heater control?

Thanks

Yes, it's related. The hose goes from the right back side of the upper mainfold to a split which is located behind the battery so search for a loose end in that region. It happened to me that the hose got in connection with the serpentine belt.

Thanks. the busted end of the vacuum hose was buried in the wire loom.

I spiced it back on....but the heater control still is limp.

any ideas of the vacuum source for the heater control?

That is the vacuum source for the heater control. You need to check that you don't have any leeks, other loose ends or clogged lines.
