trailblazer will not turn off

Hi I have an 05 chevy trailblazer, it will not turn off. You can turn ignition switch to off, pull key out. It is still running takes a couple of times turning on to off most of the time. Did replace the ignition switch still does it. Checked relay with new one, nothing changed.

When you say you changed the 'ignition switch' are you refering to the actual switch itself...underneath the dash board or are you referring to where you insert the key into the steering column?

Just wondering because alot of people get them confused.

it is on top of the column

not under dash but it only does it when you drive it for a while about 30 mins, it pulled 2 codes on p1682 cant remember other one but it was for if you push tthe gas nothing happened said to change ignition switch. after changing switch gas is working sounded like relay, relay might stick(sounded like it) it would click and then something on trans would click and sounded like brakes tightening????? sorry make any sense

Sounds like things that happen after my wifehas been driving it.

As asked did you replace electrical switch or just key and tumbler.

We need both code no.

On code 1682 there is a tsb on it.
That refers to checking for low battery voltage that could set that code.
A low battery or battery voltage can dosome strange things.

Confirm good battery and voltsge.
