94 Altima brake lights will NOT turn off!

Any ideas? The car has been fine. Moved it to another parking here at the apartment and the brake lights will NOT shut off now. The lights were not turned on when moving the car. I tried messing with the brake pedal, e-brake, pulled the tail lamp fuse and reinstalled --> lights still on.

For now the fuse is pulled. Any ideas?

The license plate lights are not on. Just the 3rd brake light and the 2 tails.

Thanks!

Re: 94 Altima brake lights will NOT turn off!

Was there a mysterious chunk of broken plastic on the floor? They used rubber plugs on the brake pedalassy where the switches contact the upper pedal. They dry-rot , break, and then you have a dead battery. Just replace them with a generic plug so the switch makes contact.

Yes, that was the problem....

Turned out a little plastic piece broke off and had to reglue a fabricated plastic piece in it's place..... Just look down at the brake assembly.
