cooling fan will not turn off
In my 1993 Escort 1.9 Litre the electric cooling fan continues to run forever when motor is not running and the ignition key is in the "off" position. This also happens when the motor is cold. When the ignition key is put in the "on" position, the cooling fan stops. Or if, while the cooling fan continues to run, the fuse is removed and then replaced back the cooling fan stops.
I had replaced the negative cable and gave it a separate ground. I then attached the other "thing", which is very necessary for car to start, to the negative terminal as well. The old negative cable is off to the side and is not being used. The way that the grounding was done before is slightly different than it is now. The alternator was also replaced at this time. I do not know where many items are so if you may have a possible solution could you try to be very specific as to the location, color, shape, etc? Pictures work best but are very inconvenient. Lost in wiring world!! Ted

It could either be a sticking relay or the ECT sensor is wack.
The ECT sensor is under the coil,on the collent line, its the one with 2 wires on it not one. I think the relay is under the hood in the black fuse box on the drivers side. |
