2000 Silverado Hesitating

While driving it feels like it is running out of gas. It does not matter what speed you are going. I haven't had it until the gas gauge moved off of full line. Engine has misfires at idle but No codes-no service light. 59psi fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel regulator replaced and vacum leak tested (thinking EGR). I was thinking of bad gas but got gas from 3 different stations. Any one have any ideas?

this vehicle will throw codes if there is any missfire..the code will hold. the service engine light WILL be on !

the injectors may be dirty. use some marvel mystery oil 1 ounce per 10 gallons of fuel with techron injector cleaner. replace the PCV in the driverside rear of the engine.

the engine on this is very pickyon plug type ..you need the ac delco irridium plugs...also measure the plug wire resistance 400-600 ohms ...

post back what you found...

Fuel pumps can act up intermittently...with high mileage replace the fuel pump relay and make sure the grounds on the fuel tank frame rail area are cleaned and the wire not corroded..

Re: 2000 Silverado Hesitating

Mod, somewhere around here I briefly chronicled my experience in dealing with a dying crankshaft position sensor. After doing some research and simply not having the time/facilities to do the job myself I brought it to a local shop. When I told them I thought it was the CPS one of them looked at me and squarely told me that that couldn't be it. I asked him to humor me anyway. Drove the truck away later that day and haven't had that problem since....

your problem I guess has been repaired.

like I stated before this vehicle will throw codes on missfires... also these Will be stored.. what type code reader are you using because if the CKP was bad this should have thrown a few codes when the engine is running.

my experience with this CKP is when it gets hot the output voltage drops and then the PCM is lost on how the engine is operating.
