Warning!!! Taurus Brake Failures!

It turns out after 3 brake failures I have experienced, this is a very common problem on Taurus according to my mechanic. He has repaired many with this same problem.
The first time was on my 1996 when pedal went to floor. brake line was rotted out by drivers side seat. The second time was on my 1999 I have now. Same exact problem at exact same spot. Now this just happened for the third time on my 1999 with only 92k miles. This time it was the right rear brake line that failed. In all cases pedal went right to the floor. In all three cases my mechanic installed new brake lines. Does anybody know did Ford have a recall on this issue? Whatever year Ford may have fixed this problem is the year I want to buy next. Anyone know?
Steve

Re: Warning!!! Taurus Brake Failures!

We have a retired FBI 2000 Taurus, were the rear brake cylinder went bad and loss of brake fluid. PBY wanted $600 for fix, DIY was $40 .
