01 Taurus Spring failure

Can you believe this, yesturday I had the "spring shield recall" completed on my 01 Taurus front springs, than today I had new tires mounted and on the way home the right rear spring broke and took out the new tire! That was not a fun experience! How many others has this happened to? Should I have all the springs replaced?

Re: 01 Taurus Spring failure

My '01 Taurus had its right rear sprong go at 75K...this WITH havingthe car serviced at Ford every 3K. The guys said that they had NEVER SEEN the rear spring break.

Re: 01 Taurus Spring failure

I'd say take it to a dealer and see what they can do. Maybe Ford might put new ones in.

The springs in these cars aren't the greatest - I have a 2001 Taurus also and my springs in the back are shot and causing the struts to go. I have a saggy rear.
