Leaking fuel filter line

hello, i'm in a horrible situation at the moment.

my supply fuel line was bent and now it cracked off and its leaking, would it be possible to get a hacksaw (would this cause a fire?) and make a cutting on those two yellow indications, all to put a connection point (such as something from here http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...mString=search) in between? or would i have to replace the entire line? any advice or help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

YOUR BEST TO REPLACE THE LINE
the connectors your showing are for the nylon f/lines.from the picture yours look to be metal.i dont think you would have a problem cutting the lines but using a tubing cutter would be easier.metal lines are not exspensive & fairly easy to use

good luck

yeah it is metal, so if i replace the whole line would nylon be a better replacement? and i dont really know how to disconnect the entire line, so ide rather just cut it off and put a connection point, but i guess it wouldnt work

i found this http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...er=238638_0_0_ it looks like its a steel fitting

edit: im going to take your advice and replace the whole line, and im going to use a flexible material this time instead of a hard tube..

how would i know if this meets the measurements for my car? i've never replaced a fuel line before so this will definitely be an adventure.. hoping it isn't too hard honestly

Re: Leaking fuel filter line

They sell nylon to steel compression fittings. I've used them to splice in nylon patches for steel lines on several occasions with good results.

Re: Leaking fuel filter line

take off the line go to your local auto parts store. they have steel line in stock at most places. you can bend it to fit then put the new line on. simple fix. i have done it a few times. if its to long ask if they have a flare kit you can rent. if you use it in the store they may not even charge you. cut to length then do a double flare on the end.
