Rebuild 4L65E DIY

My transmission in my trailblazer only has 1st, 3rd, and reverse and from what i been reading its most likely the 2-4 band, so i want to rebuild the transmission myself, i purchased the Automatic Transmission Vol. 1 The GM 4L60E: DVD Rebuild Series by Rick Metzing and it is INSANELY detailed on the entire process, awesome video, seems pretty easy as long as you have the right tools, has anyone else followed this video to rebuild their transmission? Did you run into any problems or have any tips? Thanks

I work in a transmission shop and my advise to you is dont tackle it yourself. There is more than you think to building a trans. The 2-4 band might be the problem but there is several other things you should check as well. I strongly advise that if you have a buddy thats a mechanic talk with him or take it some where. You can do more harm then good if you know what i mean. I have been working in this shop for 7 years and believe me i still make mistakes when building one. The other day i turned a washer the wrong way and thats like day light and dark. After i installed it back in the vehicle i had to pull it right back out and tare it back down. Lucky i kinda had a idea of what i did. Its alot of little things that can cause problems. Just thought i would give you my advise. If you do it yourself and need advise or have any questions my email is [email protected] feel free to email me and ask if you need to.
