Question 4R55E tranny rebuild problem

I am rebuilding a 4R55E transmission from my 1998 Explorer 4WD 4.0L. I bought a rebuild kit for it that only requires 4 steel & 4 friction clutches (for a 3.0L engine). My original assembly had 5 of each. Will it be a problem if I continue with this kit?

Re: 4R55E tranny rebuild problem

You do not have a 4R55E, 97-01 4.0 Explorers have the 5R55E Transmission.
