RPM gauge
2000 Jimmy 4.3, AT, SLE, 4dr, 4wd, 94k. After a problem with the SES light not working when the ignition was turned on and the cluster was pulled to check and repair the SES, the RPM gauge stopped reading the correct rpms. The gauge works it's just about 2000 to low. I double checked the connection to the cluster, problem remains. All other gauges and lights in the cluster work fine. I also noticed that the cruise control is not working. Although I did not discover the problem with the cruise until a couple months after the RPM gauge stopped working. So I don't know if they could be related. The rpms do show correctly on an OBDII scanner. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would check it out for cluster motor problems and or consider a Dorman exchange cluster.

Re: RPM gauge
Thanks for the reply MT. Do you know if the 2000 uses the same motors as 2003 and up Trailblazers, Envoys, etc. ? I've found a lot on the internet about those later years having motor problems (nothing about earlier models). And they are cheap($5-6) and look fairly easy to replace. Thanks again.

Not sure if they are same. Check the parts application.
