Low Oil Light

I have 1998 GTP . On the way to work this morning low oil light went

on . I checked the oil and it was good . Any ideas ?

Do you have any oil leaks?. The oil pressure/level unit could be dirty and causing a bad contact causing the PCM to get a wrong reading and setting the low fluid light.

I agree with Oscar. Most likely, the oil level sensor that screws into the oil pan is either sludged up or defective. Just to be sure, you checked the oil level with the car on level ground and not on a hill or slope correct?
