How to replace window motor passenger side 2004

I have found that I have a faulty front passenger side window motor.
I dont want to do any more work than possible.
Can any one tell me the easiest way to replace just the motor.

They say it's not serviceable and the window motor and regulator have to be replaced as one unit, but that isn't particularly true.

-Take door panel off and water deflector off
-Window motor should be visible
-Unbolt the window motor
-Put new motor on and bolt it in.
-Put water deflector back on
-put panel on
-done

the window regulator/motor assy is sold as one piece.

perhaps you can try to replace just the motor. I did remove the motor only on my 2000 just to see how it failed with the regulator assy out of the door.it was a battle..replacing the regulator is about 45min of work total..very easy job..must use duct tape to hold window up!

I purchased 2 window regulators left right for a 2003 silverado 2500 for 115.oo us.. with a lifetime warrantee..

dealership is about 300.oo ea....

I never seen just motor for sale ..a scrap yard you could get one ..

I did this job recently. If you want to just replace the motor instead of the motor and regulator, the best way to do this is to remove the regulator with the motor, swap the motor, and reinstall the whole assembly. 1AAuto.com sells the parts and has a video of how to do this on their website. It is actually a pretty easy job once you have the door panel off. The video also shows how to do that too.

There is a coiled up spring where the motor meets the regulator. If you're not careful when you remove the motor, the spring will uncoil and it will be diificult to get it back together.

Huh? I've never seen a coil on the power window regulator/motor. I've seen that it is splined (The spline also rotates for the motor fuinction).

Now I did find there was a coil (and it uncoiled when I took the cover off) for for the manual crank windows. I did a power window conversion (1 OEM window regulator/motor, 1 aftermarket regulator/motor) and I did the swapping around of parts.

This is a really easy job and it does take 45mins to an hour.
The coil that people are talking about is from the regulator. The regulator is the window track and it is run off of to metal ropes and the motor drives these wires. Up and down or pretty much the motor winds the wire around it to the left or right.
Getting back to the subject when you remove this motor, please please, be careful. You do NOT want to knock that spool out of the regulator. Take just the motor out and use one finger to keep that spool in place and quickly put the other motor in place and bolt it down.
