help replacing window motor..passenger side
I was curious to see what tips any of you could advise me on when i go to replace my power window motor on the pass side of my 83 caprice wagon.I know it is riveted to a door plate..i assume i have to remove that whole thing to get to the back of it to access the motor? I bought a new oem one and it came with the weird pop rivets..
Thanks in advance.. |

Re: help replacing window motor..passenger side
When drilling out the pop rivets don't push too hard or you will go through the sheet metal. Also use oil to lubricate the bit while its drilling. Oh, and before you drill them out, use a small balpine hammer to pound out the steel centers of the old rivets. One good pound should knock it right out, and that leaves you with a pefect hole to keep the drill bit centered.
