bad ground?

when i turn the key to get it started it just goes dead lights and all. it started when i pushed the clutch down to start it it just ckicked and buzzed then dead. eventually i did get it started and just to check i turned on everything and it bogged down alot but didnt die. it s an 89 with standard 1.5 engine.

Sounds like gibberish...
Possibly your ignition switch? Mine clicked and buzzed like that awhile ago, new ignition switch solved the problem.

have you checked the charging system?how did you finally get it started jumping
with another car or pushing & poping clutch?? ck battery cables,charging system,
& battery

i changed my negative battery cable and that fixed it.
