2000 Desert Runner misfire

Basically I'm looking at buying this truck. it is the 2000 SE Desert Runner man. trans.

On the test drive everything worked/sounded great excepting that it has a misfire/stumble under load. no SES/CEL, I talked to the dealer and he said after they detailed it that it sounded rough even at idle but chalked it up to wet from the washing..and it does idle fine as of now..when inspecting after the test drive I noted it sounded like an exhuast leak on at the rear of the passenger engine bay. After a little research it seems the manifold is the usual suspect..is the misfire a symptom of this or should I/He be looking at blasting the dizzy cap and such with some w.ater d.isplacing stuff also ?

thank you and sorry it's a long post.
Keith
