replacing ignition switch actuator 96 cougar
I bought a theft recovery 96 cougar and need to replace the ignition switch actuator. I have dropped the steering column and tried to remove it from the read and it will not come out. Do you need to remove the steering wheel to replace this part. If so I have searched but being new today have not found a repair manuel for this model is there a place on this site where I might look.

Re: replacing ignition switch actuator 96 cougar
Thanks for the reply but have done that as well as go to the library and looked thru the chiltons and haynes manuals, neither of them cover this. From what I could see, will have to take the column out and then loosen the shaft from the bottom so that I can pull the tilt head out far enough to get the actuator out the back side and replace it.But it got cold and snowed so I will start it with the screwdriver till it warms up a bit. Hate working in the cold.
