Transmission Fluid Capacity?
Hi,
I want to change the filter and don't know how much fluid I have to replace. Does anyone know how much it would be? Thank you. |

Re: Transmission Fluid Capacity?
My '96 (4T60E) took five quarts for a pan drop/filter swap. I did it that way numerous times over it's life and installed a drain plug to make changes easier. It went 175K with no problems before it went away for a badly eroding body, still running as smoothly as a sewing machine. The later models may have been different (even before the 4T65), but as always, drive it until warm and check it on a level surface (idling, of course) to be sure.

Re: Transmission Fluid Capacity?
My '97 4T60E took 7.5, but it drained a long time, I had to leave it with the pan and filter off while I took care of something else.
I think I may have cranked the motor slightly to be sure I had everything I was gonna get...can't remember for sure...
