Blower Motor

Hello,
'95 Lumina APV. The blower motor doesn't work. I removed the blower motor and ran battery power to it and it worked fine. I put it back into the van and put a volt meter to the connection and was getting power to the motor. I plugged it back in and it worked until I turned the switch off. When I turned the switch back on, the motor wouldn't work. Is the switch more likely to be at fault or could the blower motor resistor work intermittently?
Thanks!

Suspect the high speed relay.

All current to the blower is fed through this relay, whether or not it is on high speed.

Use of high speed for long periods will fry the relay or socket contacts.

Thank you! 2 questions please. 1) Would the high speed relay allow power to the blower motor sometimes and not at others (intermittent)? Would not the switch do the same if it is on the fritz? And 2) Where can I buy one. I have checked the web sites (RockAuto.com, AdvanceAuto.com and even [gag] Autozone.com) and can't seem to find a high speed relay.
Thanks again,
Roland

TUrn ignition ON, turn blower ON to medium speed, then try shaking the high speed relay and connector in case you cause intermittent contect. Also Test by unplugging high speed relay, then install a jumper from dark blu to purple wires (connector 30 to 87A on the diagram) . Make sure you establish good electrical contact. THis will allow all blower speeds except HI. If all works fine, you have the culprit. Notice also you might be wise to check the ground side of the motor.

Fixed! It was the electrical connector to the blower motor. If I pushed on the connector towards the blower motor - the motor kicked on. If I let it go, the motor stopped. I checked the voltage at the connector and it was good, so I replaced the motor itself. Works fine now. Thanks for the input!'
