Cool D16Y8 SOHC VTEC swap

Will a D16Y8 SOHC VTEC and tranny from a 98 civic fit in my 1989 civic hb? i can also get the axels from the same guy...will i be able to use them???? thanks! also, will mods for a d16z6 fit the D16Y8.

yes it will fit, not sure bout the use of the axles or the use of engine mods from one to the other, but im sure someone will tell ya.

Well yes it'll fit and everything but i'd rather use crx/civic si tranny since its cable. Too much work to get it converted to hydro. U can use ur existing axles. If you have dpfi u have to convert it to mpfi. check out this site on how to http://www.4thgenerationcivic.com/how-to's/performance_upgrades.htm and heres more info about the swap..

thats right....i forgot its a hydro tranny! how much do you think the motor and ecu is worth alone? it has 68,000 miles.
